Task Manager
| The Task Manager was designed for the Community Bar for users of a project to receive instant notification of tasks that their peers have updated. This gives users subtle non-distracting notifications with quick reference to tasks. There are three main important parts to the Task Manager. The tile view, transient view, and then seperate view.
| Tile View: The Tile View is the smallest of the views. The top of the tile view displays the owner of that tiles name. Below the name it displays the most recent updated task by that owner. At the bottom of this view it displays the percentage of completion for that task.
| Updated Tile View: When users receive notification of that owners updated task the tile will flash 3 times and then remain lit until the user moves their mouse over the tile. This keeps the user aware of which person has updated their tasks and which ones they have viewed.
| Transient View: The transient view again has the owner's name at the top. Below the name is a drop down selection where you can select a task from the owner. Down from that, there is a list of the last 3 updated tasks (if available). For each task there is a progress bar to show the progress of the last 3 updated tasks for that owner. Both the owner and the non-owners of the tiles are able to click on the owner's name to add a task to the owner. Users are also able to click on one of the 3 tasks or to select an item from the drop down box. The selected task will be the one to be displayed in the separate view. If there are no tasks selected the most recently updated task will be displayed.
| Add Task: This is a separate window for users to add tasks to the owner. Information about the name of the task, description, and the task breakdown are provided as inputs. The task breakdowns are added into a list. If items need to be removed they are simply selected from the list and removed by clicking on the available link. Once the task is ready to be published simply click on the button at the bottom. All published tasks will send notifications to all users.
| Separate View: The separte views displays information about the individual task. This includes: owner name, task name, description of the task, and the task breakdown. Only the owner of the tasks are able to update the information. When the owner of the task has completed portions of the breakdown, they can simply check the corresponding box and click the button at the bottom to apply the changes. All changes to tasks will send notifications to all users.
